  2. Open file Poverty.sta • Open • Advanced linear/non-linear models -> General linear models -> Simple regression • Study the influence of POP_CHNG on PT_POOR. Review “Significance of all effects”. Via More results -> Summary-> Coefficients, review the coefficient of linear regression and intercept. Note beta coefficient, identical to Pearson correlation by absolute value. • Close the simple regression analysis window. Open Multiple regression. • Study the influence of all the 6 variables on PT_POOR. • Review the coefficients and confidences. Note insignificant values. • Perform residual analysis. • Perform several stepwise analyses. Find the optimal configuration.
