A Solid Foundation • A long-standing relationship between GEM and NUBS based on research interests and personal contacts. • An initial Newcastle-only degree delivered in collaboration with GEM. • A focus on Innovation, Technology, and Change, i.e. Drawing on the strength of shared research interests. • A DBA degree rather than a PhD degree: • establishing a common ground, • discarding the constraints of both systems, • a licence to create a new entity taking the best from each partner.

A Joint Programme • Not just in the name: • Joint ownership • Joint execution • Joint responsibility • A demanding proposition: • Reconciling differences • Accepting dependencies • Developing new solutions • A worthwhile pursuit: • Developing a unique degree • Mutual learning • A truly international programme: • An Anglo-French degree (currently run by a Greek and a Pole) • Students from all parts of the world • International faculty
