What is Homes4Bristol? • Bristol’s Strategic Housing Partnership • Helped create and now monitors the Housing Strategy so it is Bristol’s Strategy not just the Council’s Strategy • Reps from banking, private developers, RPs, private landlords, NHS, planning etc. • Members of Homes4Bristol and it’s partner bodies are encouraged to align their business plans to the HS • Ensure crucial role of housing is recognised by all those that can help achieve our outcomes, e.g. LEP

  3. Homes4Bristol (H4B) • The Executive – includes key delivery agencies - ‘driving force of H4B’ • The Forum – large scale consultation events, open to all - ‘eyes and ears of H4B’ – next one Spring 2013 • Summits – to take forward headline actions from the Housing Strategy

Head Line Actions • Bringing back into use record numbers of empty properties – 508 in 2011/12, with 45% housing households • New Homes : ‘Open for business’ - unlocking stalled sites with planning plus market rent . new 95 % mortgage product • Private Renting Working Group: Licensing, accreditation • Early Bird : Review of housing advice and homelessness

Issues for H4B Exec • How to get more housing built – inc. land release, role of planning, alternative funding models, City Deal • Impact of the Benefit changes and how to alleviate worst aspects • Trying to ensure housing is high on the Elected Mayor’s agenda • …how to continue to deliver the housing and related services the City needs, in a very different landscape
