FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 100YEARS OF SERVICE • 1915 - the State Road Department (SRD) was authorized by the Florida Legislature. • 1920 - the SRD created five divisions which later became districts. • 1969 - The State Road Board and State Road Department were merged into the Department of Transportation.
