  2. Goal for this year – Be Positive! • SSLANT Method for Students and Teachers • Smile • Sit Up • Listen • Ask Questions • Nod When Being Spoken To • Track With Your Eyes These rules will help us know that we are communicating with each other!

  3. Rules • Be seated and working, with supplies ready, when the bell rings. • Raise your hand to speak and wait to be called on. • Turn in your best, neatest work on time. • Ask permission to leave your seat. • Follow directions the first time they are given • No eating, chewing gum, drinking or grooming. • Turn off all cell phones, electronic devices & put in backpack at beginning of class. • Be respectful of others.

  4. Consequences • Verbal Warning • Parent Contact • Pre-Detention • Detention • Referral ** Severe disruption of class will result in immediate removal from the classroom

  5. Supplies • (3) pencils sharpened with erasers • Red pen for grading • 3 prong folder with looseleaf paper or graph paper and (1) sheet protector • Manual sharpener • Highlighter • Composition Book (optional)

  6. Restroom Policy • Students should attempt to use the restroom between classes. School policy prevents students from leaving the classroom the last 10 minutes of the period. • It is important that you do not leave the class during instruction.

  7. Cheating Policy • All assignment, unless previously discussed, are to be completed independently. If cheating, student will receive O% on the assignment or test and no make-up will be given.

  8. Grading • Homework 10% • Classwork 20% • Quizzes/Projects 30% • Tests 40%
