A dilation can enlarge or reduce a figure What is a Scale Factor? A Scale Factor describes how much a figure Is enlarged or reduced. In math, we use the letter Kfor scale factor

  3. Helpful Hint A scale factor between 0 and 1 reduces a figure A scale factor bigger than 1 enlarges it.

  4. Try this: Dilate the figure by a scale factor of 0.5. What are the New coordinates of the image?
