  2. Classification: Phylum- Annelid Habitat: moist soil Symmetry: bilateral Cellular Organization: multicellular; have three layers of tissue. Reproduction: Sexually- Hermaphrodites Method of Obtaining Food: heterotroph with a one-way digestive tract that includes a crop and a gizzard. Special Notes/Adaptations: Earthworms have muscles and four pairs of setae that are arranged on each of their 100+ body segments (except for the first and last segments) which help the worm to move. They have a small brain and 5 heart-like structures called aortic arches. They aerate soil and their wastes (castings) help fertilize soil.
