  2. Use Case • Alon, a 26 years old student want’s to buy a new case for his Android phone. However, although he passes near the computer store every day, he keeps forgetting to buy one. • Dana, a 10 years old girl wants to remind her mother to get her some cookies the next time when she is at the supermarket.

  3. Use Case (Cont.) • People tend to forget to do stuff. • It would be useful to be notified when you are close to a relevant place. • Sometimes it is easier to ask other people for things, if they are already there 

  4. Presenting : AroundRoid • Combining: • Task List • Map • Dynamic Information about local businesses • Friends! • Simplify Your Life.

  6. New Features • Auto-detection of movement by foot/vehicle • Sharing tasks among friends • Reminder by specific location • Reminder by type of location, e.g. Bank, Market, etc. • Synchronization with Google Calendar

  7. AroundRoid Structure • Resources • The yellow pages database. • Server: • A web site for managing your tasksfrom your PC. • Google Accounts login. • Client: • Notify when one is nearing a task location • Enables sending tasks to friends.

Milestones • First Milestone (04/04/11) • Web Site, Google Accounts Login • Useful UI for managing tasks. • Second Milestone (02/05/11) • Android app , enables location based reminders. • Using yellow pages database for near business reminders. • Final Milestone (30/05/11) • Google Latitude, Tasks for a friend • Google Calendar , Time Specific Tasks
