  2. Location • Latitude and Longitude of Argentina is 35 degrees south and 64 degrees west. • Is located in the southern part of South America. • The 8th largest country. • Is located in the Southern Hemisphere.

Climate • Ranges from subtropical zone along Brazilian border to a sub polar area in the south. • Overall the country is fairly temperate. • In the most visited areas such as Buenos Aires the temperature is hot and humid. In Patagonian Andes the temperature is cold and arid. • Winter months in Argentina are from June through September. • The seasons in Argentina are opposite than the ones in the Northern Hemisphere.

  6. Place • Argentina has the worlds tallest mountains, expansive deserts and impressive waterfalls. • The land ranges from wild remote areas in southern Patagonia to the metropolis of Buenos Aires in the north.

Movement • Exporting Goods- soybean products, cereals, beef, motor vehicles and parts, chemicals and medicines • Their largest exporters are Brazil, European Union, China, United States and Chile. • Importing Goods- Food, fuel, energy and capital goods. • Their main importers are Brazil, United States, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

Environmental Issues • The major issues in Argentina are pollution and the loss of agricultural lands. • The soil is threatened by erosion, salinization, and deforestation. • Air pollution is due to chemical agents from industrial sources. • The water is polluted from uncontrolled dumping of pesticides, hydrocarbons, and heavy metals.

Human Interaction • For people to have clean water to drink they would have to stop polluting the water that they have or they would have to clean the polluted water so they are able to drink it. • If you are going to visit or live in the hotter climate parts of Argentina such as Buenos Aires, you would have to wear cooler clothes to keep cool. • If you are going to visit or live in the colder climate parts of Argentina such as Patagonia, you would have to wear warmer clothes to keep warm.

  13. Regions Has 6 different regions. • Cuyo & the Andean Northwest- Began as a colony of Peru but today only a few miners and herders occupy this region. Very little rain falls here. • Mesopotamia & the Northeast- is wet , swampy, and extremely hot I the summer. Is a broad flat plain between the Parana and Uruguay Rivers. • The Chaco- is part of the enormous Gran Chaco, a region that is shared between Bolivia, Paraguay, and Brazil. The region contains grassland and thorny forest.

  14. Regions • The Pampas- The fertile plains is the bread basket for Argentina. • Patagonia and the Lake District- South of Rio Colorado. Experiences a desert climate although the temperatures range from mild to subzero. Has flocks of sheep and numerous fruit and vegetable farms can be found in the valley. • Tierra del Fuego- “ The Land of Fire” is an archipelago including the Isla Grande de Tierra del fuego which is shared with neighboring Chile.
