The Goal of E2E • To increase the collegiality and professionalism between our educators • To create opportunities for peers to plan, instructor and reflect together • To improve our professional practice with our peers
And Our Converging Goal • TO INCREASE OUR STUDENT’S ACHIEVMENT!
Observations and Course Work • Participates will observe their colleagues in 3 (½) PD days in accordance with the VTEA Contract • Participates will collaborate with 3 partners • One between Dec. 4th and Feb. 4th • Two between Feb. 5th and June 3rd • After each observation participants will write a one page reflection • A final “Capstone Project” will be turned in or presented at our last meeting in June
The Capstone Project • Can be a written reflection, of a video recording of your lesson. • Can be a presentation of a grade or school wide program for next year • Can be a proposal for a grant for next year • Can be a presentation on new initiative of your choosing • Or something we haven’t even thought of yet!! • We just ask your capstone is aimed at helping your practice and/or our community
My Big Campus • MBC helps synergize educational communications and promote collaboration • For E2E’s Purposes: An ancillary device for our initiative
Seminars • Our seminars are focused on: • Facilitating group discussion • Fostering collaboration • Engaging in self-reflection • Progressing new strategies and methods within our pedagogy
Observations • The goal of these observations is to give honest and factually feedback for our peers • These observations should be as objective as possible and seldom make judgments • (Avoid: That was good… That was bad… I think…) • When offering suggestions offer more than one option • WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH SAY????
Observations Continued Consider the following: • What did you see? • What are the students doing rather than the teacher? • What does engagement look like in this lesson?
