We want you to be Risk-Takers, but that doesn’t mean we want you to do things like this……
TRY NEW THINGS!!! • A Risk-taker isn’t afraid to try new things, even though they don’t know if they’ll be any good at them!
SHARE IDEAS AND BELIEFS! • A Risk-taker isn’t afraid to share their ideas and beliefs even though they know others mightdisagree!
How Big a Risk-Taker are you? TASK 1 Take the questionnaire your teacher will give you…
Count the number of questions to which you answered A, B, or C. Write the number on your page • Count the number of questions to which you answered D, E, or F. Write the number on your page • If you answered mostly A’s B’s & C’s then examine Box 1 below. • If you answered mostly D’s E’s & F’s then examine Box 2 below. BOX 1 WORDS Thoughtful, Mild, Shy, Sensitive, Humble, Aware, Hesitant, Perceptive, Afraid, Lazy. BOX 2 WORDS Thoughtless, Confident, Adventurer, Daredevil, Show-off, Stunt-person, Motivator, Gambler, Brave, Reckless.
TASK 2 Use the words in the box to fill in the table of strengths (positive words) and weaknesses (negative words) on the other side of your page. BOX 1 WORDS Thoughtful, Mild, Shy, Sensitive, Humble, Aware, Hesitant, Perceptive, Afraid, Lazy.

Your Personal Challenge Fill in your personal challenge either on your work-sheet or on coloured paper so it can be displayed annonomouslyon the Year 8 board where you can be reminded of it every day • Perhaps you will try a new ECA? • Maybe you’ll try to break a routine or bad habit and do something new instead? • Maybe you’ll push yourself to share ideas in front of the whole class? • Perhaps you’ll try to be less afraid to stand by your beliefs. For example perhaps you believe bullying is wrong but wouldn’t normally take the risk of sticking up for victims?
