  12. Glaciers are very heavy. The bottom of the glacier wears away the bedrock as the the glacier slowly moves downhill. This process leaves behind glacial striations. Why are there glacial striations found in modern day south Africa?

Before they were half way home, the two men were exhausted, and the dogs had suffered terribly.Alfred Wegner and his Eskimo guide,Ramus Villumsen,had decided to try the 300 mile return trip to the coast of Greenland from their post at Eismette. They never completed the journey.Wegner’s body was found months later,in the spring of 1930, where Villumsen had buried it in the snow before attempting to complete the journey alone. He and his dogs were never found. They must be lying suspended to this very day, frozen in the Artic wastes of Greenland
