  1. SUPERWEEKS ATE Gifted & Talented Residential Ledbury; Herefordshire 27th-29thSeptember 2013 This September eight year 9 students from Pershore High School took part in the 2nd annual Gifted & Talented Residential Weekend, as part of a successful and on-going Gifted & Talented Pyramid Schools Project. 35 children from St Nicholas, Abbey Park, Westacre and Pershore High all took part in a range of activities designed to stretch and challenge their skills and knowledge in English, Math & Science. The Active Training Education Trust had designed a range of differentiated activities to meet the needs of our gifted and talented pupils. Providing opportunities through workshop led sessions to foster higher order thinking, problem solving, debate, discussion, team building and strategy based games. PHS students in addition were asked to work on leadership skills by co-ordinating and supervising some of the group activities and took part in an additional ‘Bright Sparks’ Maths theory session led by a visiting maths professor in which they set out to prove and challenge some mathematical theories using formulas and equations. Students also used the beautiful countryside environment to write poetry, launch lanterns and enjoy each-others company away from home with some down-time in the evenings. It was a fantastic weekend enjoyed by students and staff and we would like to thank ATE/Superweeks for hosting us again this year whilst also looking forwards to next year. A massive WELL DONE to the PHS students who took part and gave their precious time to get involved, they were exemplary in their participation, enthusiasm and commitment! Thank you to students in year 9; Erin Young, Robert Ward, Indira Creedmiles-Narine, Elizabeth Langard , Maya Da Silva Morgan, Abi Wiggins, Zoe Wood and William Parry. Miss Baker - Gifted & Talented Co-ordinator
