What we aim to do with companies • We have two main aims: • Reduce the risk to you in undertaking a particular project • Help to maximise the commercial gains from the project • Worth noting the we are not in the business of supporting blue sky R&D nor technology development without a clear route to market and a reasonable timescale for that.

SMART - Feasibility • Projects with high level of technical risk • Good commercial prospects • IP access and ownership • Available to SMEs • Proof of Concept • Smart: £90K project which includes £20K company contribution • £23K up front 75% support of eligible costs • Covers Internal / External Expenditure • Successful Smart Feasibility leads to Smart R&D
SMART - R&D • Significant Technical Innovation for UK • Pre- Production Prototyping • 35% contribution • Available to SMEs • Min Project Costs £75,000 • Max Grant £600,000 • Covers Internal / External Expenditure • Can apply direct to Smart R&D without feasibility
R&D Grant • Significant Technical Innovation for Company • Available to Large Company / SMEs • Develop IP and R&D Capability • 3 levels • Up to £40k support – Max 35% contribution – Internal Diligence • £40 – 100K – Max 25% contribution – Higher Level Diligence • £100K + – Max 25% contribution – External Diligence • Retrospective funding based on delivery milestones • Covers Internal / External Expenditure
