Overview of Jobs • We have 15 minutes per station • We have selected jobs that take about 7 minutes to complete • Allowing students to have free choice time once the job is completed • As the school year progresses, the degree of difficulty for some jobs increases • Station jobs should not always be paper/pencil.
Art Station Job • One of our goals in this station, is to practice and develop fine motor control • Each week students cut out a letter that coincides with the letter of the week • We copy letters on to construction paper http://printerprojects.com/
Pocket Chart Station Job • At the beginning of the week during whole group ELA introduction, we go over the letter picture cards for the week. • Students use these cards for their station job • The year starts with recording 5 pictures, then progress to 10 pictures, ending with 5 pictures to record and 5 pictures they choose to draw themselves
Listening Station Job • Students responsibility is to listen to the story 2 times. • When they are finished, students draw a picture from the story on their whiteboards. • We tried a response sheet, but we found it was to much and we were not getting quality work • Depending on the amount of time, you can add a response sheet if you wish
