Lt. Gen. Mary Legere is the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence for the US Army. A combat veteran with extensive operational experience in Korea, Bosnia, Germany, and Iraq, Legere has served in a succession of leadership and senior intelligence positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in her selection as the Senior Intelligence Officer for the United States Army, responsible for the operations, training, readiness and modernization of the Army’s 58,000 person Intelligence Corps.

A career Army officer with 33 years of service, Legere is the principal advisor for intelligence for the Secretary of the Army and Army Chief of Staff, and oversees the operations, readiness, training and modernization of an Army Intelligence Corps of over 58,000 Soldiers and Civilians.
A career Army officer with 33 years of service, Lt. Gen. Mary Legerehas commanded at every level of the Army, from platoon, company, battalion and Brigade, culminating in her selection to serve as the Commanding General of the Army’s 17,000 global Intelligence and Security Command.
Now serving as the Army’s Senor Intelligence officer, she overseas the Department of Defense’s largest and most diverse intelligence corps, dispersed to 140 countries around the globe, managing a budget that exceeds $5 billion.
Only the fourth female three-star general in US Army’s 240 year history, Legere works to ensure the Army Intelligence Corps retains the cutting edge capabilities required to meet the demands of an increasing volatile global security environment.
