EXPANSION OF TB/HIV COLLABORATIVE ACTIVITIES

This initiative focuses on expanding TB/HIV collaborative activities in South Africa, targeting specific districts by enhancing training, existing programs, and TB services to improve healthcare outcomes. The progress includes increased HIV tests and stable TB cases registration, with improved smear conversion rates. However, challenges remain such as lack of standardized data capturing, human resources, space, and clear responsibilities. The initiative emphasizes political commitment, senior management support, training healthcare workers on protocols, and developing national guidelines for sustainable impact.
