  3. Notes… DEFINITION • Pollination is when the pollen of one flower fertilize the ovules of another flower.

  4. Notes… • Steps of pollination: • Insects like bees come to the flower to get nectar (sugar) • By accident they pick up pollens located on the stamen (the male part of the flower)

  5. Notes… • Steps of pollination: 3. The insects go to another flower and drop the pollen onto the stigma, the top part of the pistil (the female part of the flower)

  6. Notes… • Steps of pollination: • Pollen tubes grow down and connect with the ovules (the egg) • The ovules become the seeds and the ovary the fruit
