2. Partnership for Success • Places highly skilled educators, on loan from their organizations/districts, in schools identified as underperforming • Provides intense, on-site, assistance that supports 5 guiding assumptions and focusing on 3 domains

Highly Skilled Educators in Underperforming Schools • “On loan” Partner Educator has expertise in: • leadership development • instructional design and delivery • assessment (data) literacy, and • school improvement • Underperforming Schools - District’s identified 2 to 4 elementary and or middle schools based on the following criteria: • 40% or more of students scored in the lowest category of MEAP with emphasis in reading • Not currently a Comprehensive School Demonstration site • Principal is willing to be mentored by a Partner Educator

Partner Educators • Valerie Belay, an ATLAS Coach from the Detroit Public Schools, is located at a K – 8 site. • Henry Cade, from Wayne RESA, is at a middle school. • Ron Collins, a Principal with the Ann Arbor Public Schools, is located at a K – 8 site. • Rosanna Formaro, from K.B. White Elementary in Detroit is located at an elementary school. • Jeff Holbrook is retired from the Johannesburg-Lewiston School District. Jeff’s at a K – 8 site and works with the PfS technology initiative. • Vaenka Davis-Littles, a Comer Facilitator with the Detroit Public Schools, is located at 2 elementary schools and coordinates the PfS technology initiative. • Pat Meaux, a Comer Facilitator with Detroit Public Schools, is located at an elementary school. • Gale Sharpe comes to the Partnership from the Dewitt School District and is assigned to two elementary schools. • Linda Smith, a high school English teacher from Birmingham, is located at a middle school. • Betty Underwood, a Principal with the Lansing Schools is located at a K – 8 site.

18. Partnership Support Staff • Yvonne Caamal Canul is from the Lansing School District where she was the Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Professional Development. A Partner last year in Grand Rapids, Yvonne currently serves as the Partnership’s Coordinator. • Dr. Malverne Winborne is the program’s principal researcher and also serves as a liaison between Partner Educators and Partner Schools. Dr. Winborne is Assistant Director of the Eastern Michigan University Charter School Office. • Joann Neuroth is the Program’s Evaluator and also serves as researcher for the program. Joann is a private consultant who shares her time with the Partnership by working with a variety of other clients, including the newly created PSA, University Preparatory Academy. • Sarah Uhle is the Program’s Data Manager and works with Partner Educators in setting up their school-wide databases. She also manages the Partnership’s database and creates the program’s data reports.
