  3. What is Speed Growth? • Speed Growth • Used when leveling up with a given class, changes characters base speed • Speed Multiplier • Modifier applied to character’s base speed

  4. Speed Growth in Vanilla FFT • Speed generally grows from 6 to 11 • Speed growth drastically different between certain classes • Speed growth also used when de-leveling • Spells and abilities slower than late game characters

  5. Alternative Speed Growth Systems • “Tactics Ogre” System • Focus on growths rather than multipliers • Item Based System • All classes have same growth and multipliers • “Phil” Fix • Change all Speed Growth values to 190

  6. Bahamut Solution • Use a combination of alternative systems • Change all Speed Growth values to 255 (6 -> 8) • Alter speed improving items (Thief Hats, Flash Hats, Daggers) • Tweak Classes’ Speed Multipliers to create 3 tiers • Tweak Monsters’ Speed Growth/Multipliers to create 3 tiers • Make a separate Speed Growth/Multipliers for Zodiac Monsters
