Formation of CdS nanoparticles
Introduction Here we shall report a convenient synthetic method of CdS nanoparticles by ultrasonic irradiation of a mixed solution of CdCl2, Na2S2O3 and (CH3)2CHOH in Ar atmosphere and the irradiotion of the powder of CdS in distilled water. The whole process is carried at room temperature and ambient pressure.
Reagents Cadmium chloride(CdCL2* 2.5 H2O) - 0.9 g Sodium tiosulphate(Na2S2O3* 5 H2O) - 1.2 g Isopropyl alcohol((CH3)2CHOH)) – 24ml Doubly distilled water -51 ml

The band gap energy of CdS nanoparticles wich was obtained from this experiment is: Eg=3.7 ev and the size is 6,7 nm
Second experiment The conseption of down to up.This is the method of sedimentation. From this flask we took part of this solution in different hours and analysed it in SPECORD250 UV-VIS.

Summary Ultrasonic irradiation has been successfully used to prepare CdS nanoparticles at room temperature. The advantage of this method is that it is a simple and efficent way to produce nanoparticles, which could find use in modern electronic and electrooptical devices.By appropriate control of the different surfactants, carriers and solvents, we predict that the ultrasonic reduction method may be extended to the preparation of metal sulfide semiconductor nanoparticles in aqueous systems
Conclusion The broad absorption band can be attributed to a surface state of CdS nanoparticles, because the absorption lies below the absorption edge of the particles and the absorption energy is lower than the band gap of the particles, which are corresponding well to CdS particles as previously reported
