  2. What is ESAR-VHP? • Electronic database of healthcare workers willing to volunteer during emergencies. • System includes verifiable, up-to-date information regarding the volunteer’s identity, license, professional credentials, and privileges in hospitals or other medical facilities.

  3. Why Is The System Necessary? The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services requires every state that receives a Hospital Preparedness Program grant to develop an ESAR-VHP Program.

  4. Linking States The ultimate goal of the ESAR-VHP program is to link states in order to create a national database of volunteers.

  5. The State of Nebraska owns, maintains, monitors and secures the database.

Advanced Practice Nurses Nurse Practitioners Nurse Anesthetists Certified Nurse Midwives Clinical Nurse Specialists Physician Assistants Dentists Pharmacists Paramedics & Emergency Medical Technicians Respiratory Therapists & Respiratory Therapy Technicians  Licensed Practical Nurses Cardiovascular Technologists & Technicians Radiologic Technologists & Technicians Surgical Technologists Medical & Clinical Laboratory Technologists Medical & Clinical Laboratory Technicians & Phlebotomists Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Veterinarians Who Else Should Register?Future guidelines will include the standards for the following high priority occupations
