  2. Validity of These Phrases • These are not “creeds”. Just short, concise thoughts. • As religious guidelines, they must be tested by the Scripture. • They express thoughts, but are incomplete as total truth.

  3. “No Creed But Christ - • No book but the Bible”. • In a world filled with religions, each with its “creed”, what a unique idea. • “I believe in Jesus as the Christ…” Matt. 16:16. • Nothing is authoritative except the Book – 2 Tim. 3:16f • This should reshape the religious world.

  4. Do Bible Things in Bible Ways - • Call Bible Things by Bible names. • Neh. 13:24, “The children spoke half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews language.” • We are “Christians”. No distinctions. • The church of God (I Cor. 1:1) The church of Christ (Rom. 16:16). • Eucharist. Rabbi or Reverend. Sprinkling.

  5. Where the Scriptures Speak - • We will speak; where the Scriptures are silent, we will be silent. • Something is either Scriptural or not scriptural. Cite Scripture. Matt. 28:20 • I Cor. 4:6 • Heb. 7:14; Acts 15:1, 23-24

  6. In Matters of Faith, Unity; • In matters of opinion, liberty; in all things, charity.” • I Cor. 1:10 • Rom. 14:4-5 • John 13:34-35
