Why they are for TV • In a TV show the title sequence is the same for the whole series, they can change it after the series is finished. In TV they do this because it gives the show something that can be recognised, because of this the show may have a familiar feeling about it. • In a TV show the titles sequence normally show you each of characters and what they have done in past episodes.
Why they are for film • For a film they normally give you an incite of what the character is like or they can be used so you can see the surrounding area. • They are used so you get to see what the film is going to be like, it is like a small trailer. • Since Saul Bass these title sequences have become easier to become more emotionally attached.
The good of rock n roller • The type of opening credits that is seen is not very common and is easy to watch • It gives all the info you need to know • All the images seem to be moving and they all seem to be entwined and is very smooth
The bad • The opening credits are not long but they are repetitive • In each of the scenes there is only a small part of the scene moving and it gets boring after a bit
How the enhancement of motion graphics has effected the titles • Because graphics have become more advanced title sequences have become more entertaining and fun to watch. • The sequence can also get the audience more attached to the movie because you can do much more with the opening.
The good in catch me if you can • The style that is used is very abstract and has a modern spin on it • It is a very smooth and easy to watch, feels like a cartoon • There are only three colours that are used which makes simple.
The bad in catch me if you can • The opening credit are long and that makes it repetitive and after a while gets boring
The graphics people were using are very abstract, e.g. catch me if you can, the fxs used it the opening and chasing scene are very effective and help the story along progress very well
The design choices • The way these opening scenes are designed are so that you can watch them and get ready for the rest of the film • They are having a modern twist which makes you fill the film is more up to date
The good points of madmen • Mad men has the same type of art as catch me if you can • it gives you a brief about what the whole show is like • It is different and unique from what other shows, so stands out
