  2. Based on your understanding of Common Core Standards and Information Fluency Standards, and your local populations, what, if anything, do you find missing or shortchanged in the modules? Why would an educator ADAPT these modules?

  3. Select an existing module to adapt rather than to adopt. • Identify the RATIONALE for change. • Identify what is going to stay in place. • MACRO - Specify areas for change • Develop and design all instructional elements needed for a quality ADAPTATION.

  4. Use PLANNER on wiki/in folder to build your PLAN to ADAPT • Plug in standards to be addressed • Identify the essential question of the content being covered. What ancillary questions might be relevant? • Design process for learner and teacher, activities, target skills • Incorporate EngageNY guidance documents on wiki/in folder as guidance for you or as resources for your learners as they BPK • Design Assessments

  5. After group mines the TriState Quality Review Rubric on wiki/in folder for useful and important elements, cross walk your plan with that as a self-assessment • Revise as needed to align with useful EngageNY guidance, noting decisions to revise • BIG PICTURE SHARE: Close to closing time - Share out-. What adaptations have you decided to make to the module you have chosen? Why?
