  2. Setting/Character Slide The setting was in Joey’s grandma’s house. The story was during the daytime. The main characters are Joey, Eugeney, and Grandma. Grandma is Italian and likes to cook. Joey is grandma’s grandson and he is Italian. Eugeney is Joey’s friend which is Italian also.

  3. Problem Joey did not eat his food so he could not help his grandma cook a bread doll. It looked like donuts put together. Grandma can I get some too? Yes you can. Joey said yes for me. No I am not eating food now. His grandma made a bread doll while he ate.

  4. Solution Even though Joey couldn’t help his grandma he still got a bread doll because he was still good at his grandmas house.

  5. Connection I helped my sister cook spaghetti with long noodles and hot sauce like when Eugeney helped Joey’s grandma bake bread rolls for him, Joey, and Joey’s mother.

  6. About Tomie DePaola The author is Tomie DePaola. Tomie DePaola was born in 1939. At the age of 4 he knew he wanted to become a writer. At the age of 10 Tomie was writing books for his baby sister.
