York County 800MHz Comprehensive Communications System 700/800MHz Subscriber Radio Programming Template Refresh Q1 - 2011
Purpose • Identify Channels/talk groups that may be added to radio templates in Q1 2011 firmware refresh • Simplify communications with Charlotte P25 (UASI P25) network users. • City of Charlotte • Mecklenburg County • Union County, NC
Channel and Talkgroup refresh • Met with City of Charlotte IT/Technology Services • Agreed to migrate from 1000 analog only IDs to digital IDs • Agreed that all York County public safety radios (fire/ems/law) would have access to Charlotte/Union County system • Agreed to place UASI “regional” talkgroups in our radios
Channel and Talkgroup refresh • Agreed that we could re-use our 346xxxx ID range • Less cumbersome to program and track for technicians • Same ID for all P25 systems • Network access will be given to all (public safety) mobiles and portables
CEV – Charlotte Events Zone • City of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County EVENTS channels • First (16) EVENTS channels for the Mecklenburg County • Renamed the last (5) talkgroups in the zone
CRG – Charlotte Regional Zone • UASI region P25 talkgroups • Mecklenburg County • Union County, NC • Gaston County • DYN RGRP – relocated to this newly created zone
CMA – Charlotte Mutual Aid Zone • City of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County mutual aid channels (mostly unchanged) • Police, Fire, EMS, North Towns, South Towns • York Bridge – York County talkgroup on Charlotte system • DYN RGRP – relocated to newly created zone
Secondary Impact • With the approval of the Users’ Group, templates will be adjusted to accommodate newly configured and/or added zones • Radio system plans will be updated to account for zone changes • Training programs will include zone changes
