Caterpillar calculations. Year 1 - LO To understand addition and subtraction (and that one is the inverse of the other!). 2 + 1 = 3. 3 - 1 = 2. 3 + 2 = 5. 5 - 2 = 3. 4 + 3 = 7 . 7 - 3 = 4 .
