Background Information • The FHSAA conducted a 3 year experiment beginning in 2005 where the pitching rubber for Softball was moved from 40 feet to 43 feet from home plate. • Statistics noted in this presentation are from 3 years prior to the start of the experiment (2003-2005) and the 3 years of experiment (2006-2008), then compared • Data is based on per game averages • The years prior to the experiment are represented by the lighter colored bars and the data for the years of the experiment are represented by the darker colored bars
