Add a Z39.50 Element • On WorkFlows configuration toolbar • OPAC Configuration wizard • Select Gateway • Select modify iLink • In Root Element folder, select modify Root • In Gateway Elements folder, select modify KNOWLEDGE_PORTAL • In Gateway Elements folder, select modify Z39.50 • In Gateway Elements folder, duplicate an element © 2000 Southeastern Louisiana University
Creating Search Names • On WorkFlows configuration toolbar • OPAC Configuration wizard • Select Name Mapping • Modify OCLC • In Mappings folder, click on New button • Click on Search name gadget, select OCLCNUM • Click on Search use attributes gadget, select LOCAL-NUM • Click Save changes © 2000 Southeastern Louisiana University

SmartPORT Settings • Click on Preferences in WorkFlows menu bar • Click on SmartPORT settings • Under Bibliographic Record Load Option click on “Match and Load” • In Title Control Number Source box, key in “po” (for OCLC records) • In Call Sources box, key in “LC,050,,N/LC,090,,N” (for LC call numbers) • In Library box, key in “library code” • Click on “ok” © 2000 Southeastern Louisiana University
Using SmartPORT • Click on lighting bolt icon • Choose source(s) for exporting records • Click on connect button (you should see a clock) • When connected, click on search • Fill in search box and click on appropriate button (ISBN, author, title, etc.) • Look through the list of records and click on the display button next to the record © 2000 Southeastern Louisiana University

Capturing a Record • If the record is the one you want, click on the capture button (camera) • The Load Bibliographic Record Options screen will come up and if there are no changes in the way it should export, click on “OK” • Another box should come saying that it is uploading “raw Marc” records. Click on “OK” • The Loading Bib Record screen will come up with the marc record. • You may get a message that says “Copy does not exist”.
