The brief: • A horror trailer together with two of the following three options: • A website for the homepage • A film magazine, featuring the front cover; • A poster for the film.

Film Poster Research • Analyse the use of images, colours, fonts and layout. • Explore the denotations, connotations and iconography.
Your Task: • Analyse five film posters in detail. • Choose your posters carefully.
Independent Learning/Tuesday period two: • Analyse five film magazine front covers for horror films. If possible, try to analyse magazines that advertise the same films you have looked at already. • Consider the codes, conventions, images, font, iconography and colours. Remember to use key words in your analysis, such as connotations, denotations, iconography, mise-en-scene etc. • Five film posters and five magazine front covers’ analysis needs to be uploaded to word-press by Thursday. • Word-press accounts: Create a menu for “Advanced Production”. You also need the following link: Research and Planning. Under that link you need: Research into similar media texts, audience research, Photo-shoot planning, storyboard, script, shot-list planning and iconography.

Your Task: • Analyse five horror trailers (ideally the same films you have already analysed the film posters for.) • You need to screenshot camera angles and use the following key words: Connotations Denotations Iconography Camera angles Sound effects Editing terms • Upload your work onto word-press. 360 Branding • Your task is to research a 360 advertising campaign that has been used to promote a horror trailer. • Have a look at “War of the Worlds” 360 campaign. • Once you have found one, you need to analyse it in detail.

Iconography Task • Create an iconography mood-board which demonstrates your understanding of the horror genre. • When completed, upload it onto your word-press blog.
