Phlebotomy • Phlebotomists collect and draw blood for analysis and transfusions. • Individuals in this field usually work in laboratories, hospitals, clinics, and public health departments. • According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, rapid job growth for phlebotomy technicians is expected through 2016, especially in hospital settings.

  4. EKG Technician Job Description • EKG technician stands for electrocardiographic technician. • An EKG Tech administers cardiovascular tests on patients by using the electrical impulses that are transmitted by a patient’s heart.

EKG Test • Involves the technician putting electrodes on different parts of a patient’s body such as the chest, arms and legs to obtain a print out for a physician to read in order to analyze and diagnose issues such as an irregular heartbeat. • Are common • Done before many kinds of surgery as a routine checkup with any patients advanced in age or having a history of cardiovascular problems.
