History of ASCE/T&DI • Established October 1, 2002 • Created from: • Air Transport Division (4 Technical Committees) • Highway Division (7 Technical Committees) • Urban Planning & Development Division (7 Technical Committees) • Urban Transport Division (13 Technical Committees) • Currently approximately 16,000 members (3,000 young members) • Free membership with ASCE registration or Join T&DI only

CYM Goals • Creating opportunities for involvement and recognition • Providing a voice directly to the T&DI Board of Governors • Facilitating the participation of YM’s within T&DI committees • Incorporating YM oriented content into T&DI events, conferences, committees and the website • Organizing additional YM roundtables, technical sessions, and social events • Highlighting training programs for leadership • Networking with like-minded young professionals • Fostering interaction between T&DI YM’s and local T&DI Chapters • Promoting T&DI events, conferences, committees and to YM’s via Linkedin

Opportunities for Young Memebers • T&DI YM BOG Position will be open September 2013 • 2 T&DI CYM Positions will open in 2014 • Corresponding Member to CYM • New requirement for Committees 20% of membership need to be young members • Incorporate YM activities into T&DI Conferences • Establish a Local Chapter • Webinars
