S.A.O.G, a Joint Venture between the Government of Oman and the A.P Moller Terminals Group – Manager Internal Audit • Appointed by the Board of Directors for setting up an in-house Internal Audit department in a multicultural, multi racial and a diverse environment. • Prepared reports for the Audit Committee which had suggestions for improvement along with the road map of action. • Implemented the newly introduced SOX and delivered an elaborate presentation to the Board of Directors on the SOX regarding the responsibilities placed on the Internal Auditor and the Audit Committee as a consequence of it. • Prepared policies and procedures manuals. • Provided practical suggestions for cost reduction which were accepted and emphasized by the Board of Directors. • Issued detailed reports on Purchasing and the Inventory Process, Information Technology Process, Human Resource Process and conducted investigations. Thomson Press (India) Ltd., Faridabad (India Today Group) Chief Manager Internal Audit Established an in-house Internal Audit Department. Prepared the Internal Audit Charter and the Audit Committee Charter and gained acceptance of the same from the Audit Committee. Prepared risk prioritized long term and short range audit plans and conducted process and accounting audits in line with the approved plans. Presented the Critical Issues before the Audit Committee and the Board. Member of the Core Committee for evaluating a suitable ERP solution for the company. Performed a review of the process, accounting and ISO audits conducted by the Internal Audit Team. 1. ESPN Software India Private Limited – Conducted a Due Diligence Review for the period from 1 September 1998 to 30 June 1999. • 2. UL SCOA (Unilever Standard Chart of Accounts) • Worked as a Consultant on behalf of Lovelock and Lewes, for Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL). Spearheaded implementation of the UL SCOA project for Northern India. The project was aimed at bringing uniformity in the Unilever reporting systems. Was actively involved in the Post Implementation Review of UL SCOA for Delhi Branch, Ghaziabad Factory and the Tundla Factory. • 3. Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) – ‘No Surprise Review’- Conducted for the Delhi Branch, Ghaziabad Factory and the Tundla Factory Unit between April 1998 and August 1998, in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Minimum Audit Procedures. • 4. Carrier Aircon Limited, Daman: • Recreated the stock ledgers with the assistance of articled trainee through effective strategic planning and execution within the budgeted time. • Enabled the client to file the Insurance Claim for recovering the damage resulting from fire at its Daman Factory.
5. Investigations: Conducted investigations into the affairs of two concerns into the construction business viz., AmarnathChiranjilal and AmarnathChiranjilal & Co. 6. Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL)- Euro Issue special job- Reclassified the Fixed Assets Block in accordance with the International Accounting Standards for the Years Ended 31 March 1995, 31 March 1996 and 31 March 1997. 7. Leece Neville Autolek Limited- A company incorporated with 50% Equity participation from Prestolite Inc., USA, involved in the manufacturing and marketing, including exports of Heavy Duty Stators and Alternators. Special procedures were performed for reporting to M/s Prestolite Electric Inc., as regards the Fixed Assets capitalized, Pre-operative expenses pending allocation etc., from the inception of the company till 30 September 1996, as requested by M/s Prestolite Inc., USA. Also conducted and finalized the first Statutory Audit for the year Ended 31 March 1996 and Year Ended 31 March 1997. 8. Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) – Northern Regional Office, Chandigarh.- Supervised the special job relating to the capitalization of Fixed Assets and the Statutory Audit for the Year Ended 31 March1997. 9. ITC – IBD i.) Certification for the Reserve Bank of India purposes of the remittances received between the calendar years 1993 and 1995 against export sales effected by the Delhi Office. ii.) Certification of the deduction u/s 80 HHC of the Indian Income Tax Act for the Delhi Office Maintenance of accounts (manual as well as computerized), finalization of Balance Sheet and Audits.
10. Nepal Electric Authority – Annual Stock Take The Annual Stock take for the Nepal Electric Authority was supervised and conducted, in which PwC were the Joint Auditors (Statutory). The team comprised of 12 members and the entire Nepal, where Inventory of the Nepal Electric Authority was maintained was covered in the stock take. A detailed report on the stock take was issued to the Top management of the Authority. Tax Audits conducted under the revised Form 3CD of the Indian Income Tax Act, effective from 4 June 1999. Conducted the Carrier Aircon Limited, Baush & Lomb, Avery Dennison (India) Private Limited and Fortune Park Hotels Limited Tax Audits for the Assessment year 1999-2000, under the revised form 3CD of the Indian Income Tax Act.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) • PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the big 4 provided a plethora of experience in Accounting, Business and Financial Assurances, Systems Analysis and Development, Implementation of Internal Controls etc. • Led teams as a Team Leader in the range of 2- 10 depending upon the nature of assignment. • Handled all possible business assurance assignments of major PwC clients • PwC was among the first of the Big 4 to introduce an Assurance Software wherein Strategy (Risk) factors were assigned to the audits and the Risk Based Audit Approach became prevalent and was adopted while conducting the Assurance assignments.
Efficiently planned, executed and completed the undermentioned audits by using the Team Asset Methodology, devised by PwC: • i) Milkfood Limited: Audit for the Year Ended 31 March 2000. • ii) Schenck Avery Limited: Foreign reporting to the Parent Company in Germany and the Statutory Audit for the Period Ended 31 December 1999. • iii) Gabriel India Limited: Statutory Audit for the Year Ended 31 March 2000. • iv) Saraswati Industrial Syndicate: Statutory Audit for the Year Ended 30 September 1999. • v) Gestetner: Planned the audit by preparing the Team Asset file for execution of the Statutory Audit. • 2. Hindustan Lever Limited • Interim, Tax and Statutory Audits of the Delhi Branch, Tundla Factory Unit, engaged in the process of Tea blending and manufacturing and Ghaziabad Factory Unit, engaged in the manufacturing of Vanaspati Food Products for the Periods/Years Ended from 31 March 1995 to 31 December 1998. • i) Bareilly Factory Unit, an erstwhile Kissan Food Products manufacturing unit. Conducted the first Statutory Audit subsequent to the decentralization of accounting by the Corporate Office, Bangalore for the Period Ended 31 March 1996 and the Statutory Audit for the Year Ended 31 December 1996. Equally supervised the Tax Audit for the Assessment Year 1996-97. • ii) Ice Cream Division – North. Consequent to the Strategic Alliance between erstwhile Brooke Bond Lipton India Limited (BBLIL) and Kwality, led the audit team and finalized the first Statutory Audit.
3. ITC Hotels Limited: i) Planning and Mobilization: Prepared and finalized the Audit Strategy Memorandum for the ITC Hotel’s Statutory Audit for the Year Ended 31 March 1997. Coopers and Lybrand Audit Approach (CLAA) was adopted for effective and value added service to the client and was successfully implemented in achieving this end. ii.) Conducted the Statutory Audits of Welcomgroup Mughal Sheraton and Welcomegroup Usha Kiran Palace, Jaipur and Lalgarh Palace, Bikaner a managed property of Welcomgroup chain of hotels for the Period Ended 31 March 1997 in line with CLAA. iii). Conducted and finalized the Interim Audits of Rajputana Palace Sheraton, Jaipur and Lalgarh Palace, a managed property of Welcomgroup chain for the Year Ended 31 July 1997 iv). Fortune Park Hotels Limited, a subsidiary of ITC Hotels Limited set up to provide management expertise to growing mid market segment, for Fortune Park Hotels Limited. Conducted the Statutory Audits for the Years Ended 31 March 1997 and 31 March 1999 and the Tax Audit for the Assessment Year 1997-98. 4. ITC Limited , Saharanpur – a cigarette manufacturing unit. Was the audit team leader and finalized the Statutory Audit for the Year Ended 31 March 1996 5. LML Limited, Kanpur –As a team leader was engaged in the Audit for the Period Ended 31 March 1997 and the Statutory Audit for the Year Ended 30 September 1998. CLAA was implemented in doing the 30 September 1998 Audit. 6. Sicpa India Limited-A subsidiary of Sicpa S.A. Switzerland, a company engaged in the business of manufacturing of Security and Commercial Paste Inks and the sole supplier of Security Inks to Reserve Bank of India. Functioned as the Team Leader and finalized the Audits of Foreign Reporting Consolidation Package, as per Swiss Laws, for the Years Ended 31 December 1997 and 31 December 1998 and the Statutory Audit, as per the provisions of the Indian Companies Act, 1956 requirements for the Year Ended 31 March 1998.
7. Imaje Technology Private Limited- A subsidiary of Imaje S.A. France, engaged in the trading of Ink Jet Printers and Ink Additives. Held the Planning and Mobilization meetings with the Group Financial Chief, General Manager and the Financial Controller as regards the defining of the first Accounting Period, adoption of the Group Accounting Policies, to the extent possible, secretarial compliances, advising on certain specific issues etc. The first Audit was conducted was supervised, as a prelude to the Tax Audit for the Period Ended 31 March 1998. • 8. Philips India Limited (North)- Finalized the Statutory Audit of the Consumer Electronic Division, Light Division, Banking and Sales Tax, Components and the Industrial Electronic Division for the Year Ended 31 December 1995 and also finalized the Tax Audits of the aforementioned divisions for the Assessment Year 1996-97. • 9. British Telecom (WW) Limited – India Branch-Conducted the Statutory Audit for the Year ended 31 March 1997. • 10. Rallis India Limited, Agrochemical Division – North: Conducted and finalized the Statutory Audit for the Year Ended 31 March 1996. Did the Subsidy certification for different months. • 11. It’s focus was on understanding the process and client’s business as a whole, identifying & assessing risks, understanding controls and planning for achieving the business objectives. • Team Asset: The training course was organized by Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) for a period of 5 days, a revolutionary approach aimed at conducting Audits online using computers.
