Antithesis(an-tith-e-sis) • (noun): the direct opposite; contrast (dictionary.com) • “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” - Charles Dickens's “A Tale of Two Cities” • “One small step for a man, one giant leap for all mankind” • “Money is the root of all evils: poverty is the fruit of all goodness.”

  3. Anthimeria(an-thi-MER-ee-a) • (verb):Substitution of one part of speech for another (byu.edu) • “Feel bad? Strike up some music and have a good sing.” • “Yes, she’s OK now. She just needed a good cry.” • “Did you see the way those blockers defensed on that last play?”

  4. Aporia(uh-poor-ee-uh) • (noun):the expression of a simulated or real doubt, as about where to begin or what to do or say.
