Glasgow’s Challenge • 65,000 school pupils; of which • 2,050 young people ‘looked after’ – 20% of national total • 10,898 (16.7%) are recorded as having ‘additional support needs’ • 2,180 (3.3%) have refugee or asylum seeker status • 8,425 (12.9%) have English as additional language • 9,670 (14.8%) belong to BME groups • S4 attainment levels – 88% achieving English and Maths at level 3 or better (92% nationally) • Negative Destinations 16% (835) - 14.3% nationally

Early IdentificationRisk Matrix • Indicators of risk: • Attainment, attendance, exclusion, looked after status, other social work involvement, young carer, gang involvement, offending behaviour, refugee, asylum seeker, English as a second language etc. • Weighted scoring – Red, Amber, Green • Systematic targeting – early identification
