Writing an opinion essay • I paragraph Make an introduction/state the problem. • II paragraph - Express your personal opinion and give 2-3 reasons for it. • III paragraph - Express an opposing opinion and give 1-2 reasons for this opposing opinion. • IV paragraph - Explain why you disagree with the opposing opinion. • V paragraph - Make a conclusion relating to your opinion.

In my opinion, being rich doesn’t necessarily mean that you are successful. For example, if your main goal in life is making a fortune and all your thoughts are concentrated on this, you may have problems with your family as you don’t have the time for your close people. Moreover, money can spoil people because the rich become greedy, arrogant, treat other people as their inferiors. As a result, they are likely to lose their true friends and to attract jealous people and have a lot of enemies. Last but not least, they can suffer from nervous breakdowns and feel lonely.

I suppose that the people who consider money to be the only way of being successful are wrong. I know a lot of people in Russia and in my town, as well, who can call themselves successful although, they never had much money but they got recognition for their contribution in different fields; medicine, education, science, politics.
