rules • A GCF stands for greatest common factor (a factor is a number that goes into another number Ex: factor x factor= product) • It is the highest factor of two numbers • To get a GCF from two numbers you must do the following-
examples Example # 1 Example # 2 24 21 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24 1,3,7,21 The greatest common factor is 3! 36 48 1,2,3,4,6,9,12,18,36 1,2,4,6,8,12,24,48 the greatest common factor is 12!
