  2. Answer the following questions in complete sentences. 8-24-11

  3. Why do you think all of the teachers at KHS are talking about text features in the first weeks of school?

  4. Of all the text features we defined yesterday, which one do you find most helpful when you read? Explain why.

  5. Use the text with features to answer your question as quickly as possible. Record your answer and the time it takes you in the space below.

  6. 8-24 Objectives: • Students will consider the importance of text features by comparing the time it takes to answer a question in a passage without text features to the time it takes to answer a question in a passage with text features. • Students will use their survey info to prepare book cover collages.

  7. Work in groups to share supplies and prepare your book cover collages. • Use the rubric as a checklist to make sure you have all the required elements on the book cover. • Plan out your speech using the outline.

  8. Exit. Answer in complete sentences. When and how will you prepare and practice for your presentation?
