Act Three • The two gangs meet for their arranged fight. • The fight doesn’t last long as a serious incident occurs. • Sirens are heard approaching the scene, nearly everyone flees. • Only two people remain at the scene.
The Two Gangs Meet… After heated talks on Facebook a time and place is decided for the fight. Both gangs arrive at the arranged meeting place, one gang member from the foster home gang is carrying a small knife. The fighting ceases when everyone realises a boy lying motionless on the ground.
A Serious Incident… The boy (main character) is the one who is motionless on the ground; seemingly received a stab wound. It is unclear who carried out this attack, but it is thought someone from the foster home gang is to blame. Before someone specific can be blamed, sirens are heard approaching the scene, causing most people to flee.
Sirens Are Heard… The fight lasts barely a minute, a boy is seriously injured causing the fight to end. Before a diagnosis can take place, sirens are heard rapidly approaching the scene, all but two people flee the scene. Once the sirens arrive it becomes clear someone telephoned the police, once more it is unclear as to who did this. An ambulance is hurriedly called after the police arrive.
Only Two People Remain… The two people who remain are: the boy who is critically injured and his closest friend from the foster home gang. Once the ambulance arrives it soon becomes clear the boy has succumbed to injuries to the shock and dis-belief to his closest friend. News of this soon reaches the other two gangs.
To Conclude: Soon after the fight, the two gangs falter out and all but cease to exist in light of the tragic news. All of the gang members attend the funeral of the boy and console one another and agree to end their on-going rift. The boy’s killer is discovered and he is sent to a youth correction centre.
What To Learn: That true friendship will always show in desperate circumstances. Despite being of a rival gang, the deceased boy’s best friend remains by him. These ‘rival’ gangs have no rivalry whatsoever, both gangs want to show that are not afraid to fight and therefore will look for any excuse to have one. Seemingly pointless fights always carry the risk of serious injury; it only takes one person to go too far.
