Materials Used… • 6” Senior Tongue Depressors • Carpenter’s Wood Glue • Hot Glue • File • Binder Clips • Ruler/Saw/etc.
Design Ideas… • Main goals: • disperse weight to the sides • maximize amount of compression the bridge can withstand • efficiency (compression vs. mass)

Improvements… • Shortened the height • Added more layers • Focused on strengthening the weak areas from prototype • Increased width of bridge • Added additional inner supports • Added decorations ^.^

Conclusion… • Better efficiency (weight - compression) • Same weight, stronger bridge • By reducing height, adding strength through layers, we achieved greatness! • First Bridge: 0.61 pounds, held: 371 lbf • Final Bridge: 0.62 pounds, held: 500.1 lbf
