Status of Procurement • Substation L1 • Transformer fully tested • Delivery expected in 1-2 weeks • Pictures of completed substation will be sent prior to shipment • Booster Transformer Y-BE2 • RFP placed early August • All proposals due by 8/31/2012 • Temporary Wiring • 350 MCM cable is hung and wired for temporary panel board • Other temporary wiring will begin towards the end of August • Panelboard • 1 assembled • 1 needs to be assembled
Status of Procurement (Cont.) • Safety Switches • Delivered • Temporary installation will begin late August • Cable Supports • Delivered • Installation will occur late August to early September • Junction Box • Built • Will be shipped with substation
Project Schedule • September 17-28 • General Cleanup 2-3 weeks prior to shutdown of substation • Temporary electrical power will be completed the weekend prior (September 15th) • It could take riggers several days to remove and install substations • Small clearances • Large weights • Discussions are underway to move forward with cutting a hole in LINAC’s roof • Contractors will be in this week to give a cost estimate
Temporary Power Plan • “Siphon” power from panel DHP-L2-2 Circuit #1 • Cable will be run on temporary supports • 4 conductor 350 mcm cable is heavy (~7 lbs./ft.) and will need an open area to lay • Some cable will be put on the floor but will be covered by a cable bridge • Setup 2 temporary panel board(s) • Run cable to individual loads • DHP panels, MCC loads • DHP panels will have potentialhazards removed (mains, MCC, etc.) • 13.8 kV lines will be disconnected • MCC loads will have configuration control locks • We will check current prior to using any MCC loads to ensure they will not trip off during operation • Power will be provided 24 hours a day
Installation Costs • 1 Crew of Riggers (4-6 men) • Could be as much as $30k • Will remain unknown until a finalized roof plan is put in place • 2 Week of Electricians • $100/manhour x 2 electricians x 80 hours = $16,000 • Cable • 2/0 - $3,500 • 2 – $3,700 • House Power • $4,200 for panelboard • $2,000 for assembly • Miscellaneous Stock purchases • $2,100 Total Cost : $31,500 -> excluding rigging and roof Previous Estimate: $23,000 -> excluding rigging and roof Increase can be attributed to increased electrician time and panelboard cost
Future PIP Project ???? • Create Site Wide Monitoring Network PIP Project PIP Project HQ Note: CG-1 has been moved from PIP schedule, and will now be handled by headquarters
Booster Y-BE2 Update • Replaced bad transformer • Working well • Decreased noise • Less heat • New transformer RFP • Estimated cost of $150k • Expect bids by end of August • Procurement will begin within 30 days of receiving bids • Will likely be much quicker • Install • Early next year • Several days
