1. Introduction of TIPC • TIPC was founded in 1999, on the basis of • The former Inst. of Photographic Chemistry of CAS • The former Cryogenic Laboratory of CAS (which had 2/3 cryogenic people in China, ‘Cryogenic National Team’) • Some relevant departments of IC and IP of CAS • TIPC has • over 350 professional staff & over 300 MS and Ph.D. students • 6 Academicians of CAS and 59 full professors and equivalent • Key research areas of TIPC (6 research centers & 26 groups) • Optical functional materials and device • New synthesis technologies for green chemistry • Energy materials and new technologies • New technologies of cryogenic engineering (2 centers & 7 groups)
2. Introduction of LCEG • My group, the Large Cryogenic Engineering Group (LCEG), takes the design, construction and commissioning of the cryogenic systems in the Large Scientific Project in China and oversea, especially in the HEP field as our main work

Research Activities • Cooperative construction and commissioning of cryogenic system of BEPCII • Design, construction and commissioning of SSRF cryogenic system • Cooperative construction of cryogenic system for PKU-FEL • ILC collaboration on SC RF cavity cryo-module • Thermal analysis and commissioning of LHC cryogenic system • Thermal analysis of ITER cryogenic system • Other projects
3. Research Activities - BEPCII Beijing Electron-Positron Collider Upgrade
3. Research Activities - BEPCII • 2 cavities, 500 MHz & one cell each • Cavities are made of niobium and will work at 4.5 K. • Cavity resides inside a stainless steal liquid helium vessel of 290 liter. • Thermal loads include about the 30 W static load and 84 W dynamic load.
3. Research Activities - BEPCII • A pair of SC interaction quadrupoles magnets is used • Consisting of independent quadrupole (SSQ), horizontal dipole (SCB, SCB or HDC) vertical dipole (VDC), Skew-quadrupole (SKQ) and three part atti-solenoid (ASI-3) windings

Research Activities - BEPCII • Our contributions: • Check and review of the engineering design • Preliminary design and thermal analysis of cryogenic system and current leads for SSM of BESIII • Fabrication of cryogenic transfer lines • Problem analysis during the cryo-plant performance test • Design of the control logic and interlock • Problem analysis after the first commissioning of the SC magnet cryogenic system • Attending installation and commissioning

3. Research Activities - SSRF Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility • The third generation light source • The Investment is 1.30 BCNY • Including three SC RF cavities (499.65 Hz / 4.0 MV) • A 650W@4.5K cryo-plant is needed
