The Higher Education Academy formed in 2004 to take on the functions of 3 previous bodies: The Learning and Teaching Support Network (LTSN) with 24 Subject Centres promoting the development of good practices in Learning and Teaching The Institute of Learning & Teaching in Higher Education(ILTHE), The body for professional accreditation and development The National Coordination team(NCT) For teaching quality enhancement

Mini-Project Grants • to develop scholarship and debate about how best to improve learning and teaching practice, through commissioning reviews of the literature, policy, and studies of the experience of teachers and learners in a variety of learning environments. • Grants of around £5000 are available annually. Aims of the MH SIG • Develop interdisciplinary networks and facilitate the sharing of ideas, experiences and good practice for the integration of mental health across educational programmes • Provide a forum for the dissemination of information and resources relevant to the development of high quality evidence based mental health teaching and learning • Support enquiry and innovation that aims to promote mental health learning and teaching across the range of multi disciplinary settings.
