Life Cycle of a Star Lab V: 0 Record observations and data on the handout. • Inflate a balloon to about 45cm in circumference. • Cover the balloon in aluminum foil and measure the circumference of the “star”. • Measure the mass of the “star”. • Pop the balloon and gently crush the foil (NOT ALL THE WAY) to represent a supernova. • Measure the new circumference and mass. • Crush the foil a second time, measure the mass and volume. • Crush the foil a final time to represent a black hole.
