WELCOME TO TSTC NORTH TEXAS ONLINE LIBRARY ORIENTATION • Texas State Technical College (TSTC) North Texas campus is located at 156 Louise Ritter Dr., Red Oak, Texas 75154. • The North Texas campus has access to a variety of online library resources and library materials via the TSTC Marshall Library. • TSTC Library holdings include a wide variety of books to support Texas State Technical College programs.

  3. North Texas Campus Hours • Monday-Friday 8am-5pm • Closed on Weekends and Holidays • Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm • Friday 8am-5pm • Closed on Weekends and Holidays • Summer Hours: • Monday-Friday • 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Marshall Library Hours

  4. Online Circulation Policy • Library membership is free to TSTC North Texas students, staff, faculty and authorized library users. Online users must have a Texas State Technical College identification number in order to register for library privileges. • A library barcode for your ID will be issued during New Student Orientation or by seeing the Administrative Assistant for Instruction in room 550. The barcode and ID will allow you access to your library account on campus and remotely.

  5. Circulation Continued • General Circulating Collection items can may be borrowed for 30 days. Renewal Options are available. • Reserve materials, videos and audios circulate with restrictions. • Library fines for late returns will be charged to your account. Fines are 10 cents per day for each overdue book and 1 dollar per day for each audio/visual or reserve item overdue. Fines will continue to accumulate during holidays and weekends. Books must be returned between 8:00am-5:00pm to the Admin. Assistant for Instruction in room 550.

  6. Library Services • Computer workstations are available for all students to use in room 560. • On campus computers allow full access to the library online database resources. • The library catalog, Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a variety of other programs are available at computer workstations.

  7. Library Services Continued • All classroom labs have printers available for student use free of charge. • Photocopying can be accomplished with the Administrative Assistant for Instruction in room 550.

  8. Library Services Continued • Faxing services are available to students, in room 550, for school related documents. • Scanning services are also available for students. Please see the Administrative Assistant for Academic Instruction in room 550. Students must provide their own removable storage devise.

Learning Success Free tutoring available to all North Texas students. • See instructors during office hours • Request tutoring services through the Administrative Assistant for Instruction (972) 617-4730 or coming by room 550 • Free tutoring • Individualized study skills advising • Student support programs

Interlibrary Loan • If you are in need of materials, they can be requested through Interlibrary loan (ILL). • ILL is a service provided to all Texas State Technical College North Texas students, faculty and staff. • To request a book or other resource, please submit a request online from the Library Home Page or contact: Mrs. Frazier, Coordinator of Library Resources Email: elaine.frazier@marshall.tstc.edu Phone: 903-923-3383

  11. North Texas Campus Library Home Page • The North Texas campus library home page, www.tstc.edu/ntx_library/services, provides access to a variety of learning resources. • Scrolling down, you will see all the Library Resources that are available.

Library Catalog • Click on the Library Catalog icon. • Access the TSTC library collection electronically. • With your library barcode number and PIN, this link allows you the opportunity to view your library account information. It also provides a way to renew books and place holds on important library resources. • A variety of free reference materials are also available through the Library Catalog icon by clicking on the “Knowledge Portal.”

  13. Online Databases • TexShare databases are an important source for all your online research needs at Texas State Technical College. • TexShare database resources are available to all TSTC students. Using the databases from a remote site will require a password.

  15. TexShare Databases • Click on the TexShare icon. • This collection of databases includes selected EBSCO Host databases, Gale Literature Resource Center, Consumer Health, Gale Health Reference Center, Searchasaurus, and Info Trac Newstand. • At your leisure look over each source.
