Heterotrophs vs. Autotrophs • Autotrophs = organisms that make their own food from sunlight or chemicals • All plants • Some bacteria, some protists (algae) • Heterotrophs = organisms that rely on other organisms for their food supply • All fungi, all animals • Some bacteria, some protists (Amoeba sp.)
