Tabula Small group teaching allocation • Seminars, tutorials, labs, project groups • Modules (timetables/clashes), ability, preference, random, mixed (male/female, home/overseas) • One group per year, one group per module, same group but changes tutor, 15 per group, 5 per group • Different for different years of study • Spreadsheets, paper files, central timetabling, other online systems • Notify via email, noticeboards, web sites, pigeon holes, often with generic/personalized timetables • Module allocation
Small group teaching allocation • Start with common part of the process - notification • Upload information about groups and teaching sessions • Notify students • Design scheduled for May • Development scheduled for June
Attendance monitoring • Minimum of 11 monitoring points throughout the year • UG, taught PG, PG research • Departmental inductions, personal tutor meetings, seminars, submission/collection from office, electronic submission, meetings with supervisor, registering module choices, exams, module evaluation, etc.. • Attendance recorded on paper, on line, using spreadsheets • Data about missed monitoring points submitted at intervals to Academic Office
