Where to store our files • Lesson Plans • Shared Documents with Students • Shared Documents with District Teachers • Private Documentation • Heavy Media • Large Picture Files • Video Files
Lesson Plans • Important Documents • Should be backed up • Save it in your “MY DOCUMENTS” Folder • Remember that “MY DOCUMENTS” is stored on the H drive under your username’s documents • Example: bdial’s Documents • It is backed up regularly
Shared Documents with Students • Each campus has a drive designated for file sharing • Elementary = O • Intermediate = M • Junior High = U • High School = T • These drives are not backed up • Drives are intended for temporary storage of files to be used for file sharing. • Original copies should be stored on the H drive or in My Documents
Shared Documents with District Teachers • District Teachers may share documents with each other on the N drive • These drives are not backed up • Drives are intended for temporary storage of files to be used for file sharing. • Original copies should be stored on the H drive or in My Documents
Private Documentation • IEP info on students • Other confidential documentation • These files should be stored on your H drive or My Documents • Only you have access to these files • DO NOT store these on shared drives or C drive. • Other people can access the files
Heavy Media • Large Picture Files • More than 1000kb per picture • Many picture files • Video Files • More than 5000kb per video • Many videos • Song Files • Many songs • These files should be stored on your own personal devices • External Hard Drives • USB Drives • CDs • DVDs • Temporary storage on the network for use is OK • Permanent storage is highly discouraged. • Shared files are not backed up • Local computer doesn’t have enough space
Media Resizing • Large Pictures files can be reduced in file size with little change in quality • Compress • Changing file type • Camera’s can be set to take standard pictures that are more network friendly.
