Benjamin Sungkweon Park Professor Linn Bekins RWS 503W October 8, 2013 Assignment 2 EV Wireless Charging Instructions Introduction This instruction is about a method by which electric vehicle (EV) drivers can wirelessly charge the EV battery. The purpose of EV wireless charging instructions is to help EV drivers to use wireless charging conveniently and safely. The target audience is an owner of EV which can be adaptable to wireless charging technologies. This instruction canbe either distributed as a handout or posted on the wall at charging station sites.
Wireless Charging Instructions CAUTION: Before using, see if your EV has wireless charging function. Step 1 Position EV over green bar. If successful, you can see Orange Lamp at the top of charging station. The front bumper of your EV has to head for charging station. If EV front tires contact green bar, the status lamp at the top of charging station turns orange. Charging Station Green Bar Status Lamp Step 2 Make payment. Charging station screen will guide your payment. (Credit or Debit card) If you have Smart Start TM tag in your EV, payment process is skipped. Info. Screen Charging Station Step 3 Push the START button for charging. During charging, you can see Red Lamp at the top of charging station. STARTbutton is on the panel of charging station. It takes usually 20 to 90 minutes, depending on EV battery capacity. If you want to stop charging, push the STOP button. Step 4 Finish your charging. After charging ends, you can see Green Lamp at the top of charging station. Aftercharging ends, the status lamp at the top of charging station turns green. You can refer a progress gauge in the info. screen of charging station. Progress Gauge
